Pipe cement: Use ABS cement for the ABS version or PVC primer + PVC cement for the PVC version.

Installation Guide

Outlet Type:

The Universal Bond Flange Kit has a universal outlet that can connect directly to a 2" waste pipe or adapt to a 3-piece clamping drain with the included adapter.
The Traditional Bond Flange Kit connects directly to a 2" waste pipe and is not compatible with the clamping adapter.

Shower Pan Type:

The Universal Kit is best for mortar (drypack) shower pans.
The Traditional Kit drops into most preformed foam shower trays.

Grate Compatibility:

The Universal Kit works with ANY FloFX grate, including our Tile-in Grate and Elite Grate Carrier.
The Traditional Flange Kit works with any standard FloFX Grate.

Grate Adjustment:

The Universal Kit uses our grate carrier/shim set to adjust the grate horizontally and vertically.
The Traditional Kit uses a traditional style adjustment ring and grate riser.

This is the best shower flange for tiled shower floors

This is the best shower flange for tiled shower floors. I’ve recently started using this flange for our floated mudpack and membrane shower systems. Paired with the FloFx membrane this is a great solution for less cost that some other well known brands on the market. The flexibility in the final drain grate adjustment is a huge bonus.

Can the FLOFX drain Universal or traditional drain bodies be used with a Hot Mop installation?

Hot mop shower pans are typically installed with a traditional 3-piece clamping drain, which is designed to work with the hot mop membrane in place of a standard rubber liner. FloFX bonding flange drains—including both the Universal Bond Flange and Traditional Bond Flange models—are not recommended for use with hot mop installations. Bonding flange drains are intended for modern surface-applied waterproofing membranes (liquid or sheet membranes), not hot mop systems. For optimal performance and long-term waterproofing, it’s best to use the drain type that matches your waterproofing method.

GEORDI is the BOMB

I cant think of any product better than Ardex (first sealer, then the epoxy in "black licorice" (the color will be a point later). WAIT, I can think of something better....CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I had a problem with my 3rd order...on one phone call Geordi handled it. He and I spoke/exchanced some photos....and in about 34 hours the replacement was at my front door.

NOW here's the interesting aspect. I used "black licorice" epoxy. Where I had to stop I had about 1/3 container left. Rather than letting it harden, (it was going to waste anyway) I got the idea to "fill in divots in my 50 year old blacktop drive way". When I have it sealed I do ask them to "fill in" holes that have developed....but they are NOT going to sit and patch it with a putty knife like I did with the Ardex expoxy. It's been maybe 2 months.....WATERPROOF, adhered like welded steel. Only diff is a slight color variation....and next year when I have a blacktop seal put over....you will NEVER see it. I over-ordered....and I will literally use every bit to seal every crack that I can find, so water does not freeze/crack it further!
