What is needed for installation

  • Pipe cement: Use ABS cement for the ABS version or PVC primer + PVC cement for the PVC version.

What's different from the Universal Bond Flange Kit?

Outlet Type:

  • The Universal Bond Flange Kit has a universal outlet that can connect directly to a 2" waste pipe or adapt to a 3-piece clamping drain with the included adapter.
  • The Traditional Bond Flange Kit connects directly to a 2" waste pipe and is not compatible with the clamping adapter.

Shower Pan Type:

  • The Universal Kit is best for mortar (drypack) shower pans.
  • The Traditional Kit drops into most preformed foam shower trays.

Grate Compatibility:

  • The Universal Kit works with ANY FloFX grate including our Tile-in Grate and Elite Grate Carrier.
  • The Traditional Flange Kit works with any standard FloFX Grate.

Grate Adjustment:

  • The Universal Kit uses our grate carrier/shim set to adjust the grate horizontally and vertically.
  • The Traditional Kit uses a traditional style adjustment ring and grate riser.

What preformed shower pans is this compatible with?

  • The FloFX Traditional Bond Flange Kit is a direct fit for Schluter, Prova, and Profilitec foam trays.
  • The Traditional Kit can be installed into a Laticrete foam shower tray, just be sure to use an LFT mortar to achieve 100% coverage with the 3/8" gap under the bond flange.
