Spin Doctor 1/8" Tile Leveling Posts / Baseplates

Use these 1/8" Spin Doctor breakaway threaded posts with reusable Spin Doctor caps to help reduce tile lippage and create flatter, cleaner tile installations. Designed for floor and wall tile applications, these posts/baseplates are a strong choice for large-format porcelain, ceramic, and rectified tile projects where surface alignment matters.

Important: This listing includes posts/baseplates only. Spin Doctor caps and Clear View Shields are sold separately.

Spin Doctor Leveling System Features

  • 1/8" Leveling Posts – Designed for tile installations where a 1/8" joint is appropriate.

  • Helps Reduce Tile Lippage – Helps align neighboring tile surfaces during installation for a flatter finished result.

  • Works with Reusable Spin Doctor Caps – The cap threads down onto the post for fast, tool-free adjustment.

  • Breakaway Threaded Design – Posts break away after the setting material cures and are discarded after use.

  • Large Format Tile Friendly – Useful for porcelain, ceramic, plank, and rectified tile installations.

  • Clear View Shield Compatible – Optional Clear View Shields can be used to help protect delicate or polished tile surfaces.

  • Multiple Pack Sizes Available – Choose 250-count boxes for smaller projects or 2,000-count boxes for contractor-volume use.

  • Posts/Baseplates Only – Caps and Clear View Shields are not included with this product.

How the System Works

Each post/baseplate slides under the edge of the tile before the reusable Spin Doctor cap is threaded onto the post. As the cap tightens, the system helps bring adjacent tile surfaces into alignment while the setting material cures. After curing, the post breaks away and is discarded, while the cap can be reused on future installations.

Choose the Right Pack Size

  • 250-Count Box – Best for smaller rooms, shower walls, backsplashes, repairs, and single-project use.

  • 2,000-Count Bulk Box – Best for contractors, large-format floors, commercial jobs, multi-room projects, and repeat job-site use.

Ideal For

  • Floor and wall tile installations
  • Large-format porcelain and ceramic tile
  • Rectified tile projects
  • Bathrooms, kitchens, showers, and commercial spaces
  • Tile installers, contractors, remodelers, and advanced DIY users

I recently purchased these tile spacers for a bathroom renovation project, and I must say, I was blown away by how easy they made the job. Whether you're a professional tiler or a DIYer like myself, I highly recommend these spacers for any skill level.

The spacers are incredibly fast and simple to use, and they turned what I thought would be the most difficult part of my tile job into the easiest. I was able to complete my project in a fraction of the time it would have taken me without them.

I do want to point out that the top spinner piece is sold separately, but it's definitely worth purchasing. While the spacers will need to be replaced for the next job, the tops can be reused, so you'll get your money's worth in the long run.

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend these tile spacers to anyone looking to simplify their tile installation process.

Very cool tool!

We are doing a large exterior deck project in 12x12 granite. There are a number of areas with different intersecting slopes.
This lippage control system has been essential in reconciling these intersections and producing a smooth surface in spite of these issues.
Very helpful!

The Spin Doctor Lippage Control Leveling System is great for getting flat, even tiles. It's easy to use because of the spinning cap design, which is way better than wedge systems. You can use it for any tile project due to the different post options. I highly recommend Spin Doctor for anyone who wants to avoid the hassle of broken clips.

I can't imagine tackling a tile project without these tools anymore. They've transformed the entire tiling process, especially for DIYers like me who don't have frequent tile installation experience. What I appreciate most is how they effortlessly address multiple tricky tiling issues – maintaining consistent spacing, ensuring even height, and securely holding the tiles in position until the mortar sets. Give them a try during your next tile project!

While the Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System worked reasonably well for my tile installation, I found it slightly challenging to get the hang of the free-spin design initially. It did improve the overall levelness of the tiles, but it took some practice to achieve consistent results.

how many spinners(Boxes) for 755 sq ft of 12x24 tile install with 1/8" gap?

TileTools

For a 12"x24" tile installation using the Spin Doctor Tile Leveling System, it's generally recommended to use 2 Spin Doctor pegs per square foot. This accounts for proper leveling at all corners to minimize lippage and ensure a flat, professional finish this is especially important with large-format tiles.
You’ll need approximately 1,510 posts for a 755 sq ft installation (755 sq ft x 2 posts per sq ft).
