My tiles are 5 15/16. What rack do I purchase? Can we do 3/16 grout lines?

To achieve a 3/16" grout joint on a tile that is 5-15/16" you would need a 6" ID to ID to allow a 1/16" of space with the 1/8" steel you would get a 3/16" grout joint. - This would be a SJ64 (6"x6" - 64) Please be aware because of the variations in quarry tile it is recommended of having a 1/4" grout joint and the rack code would be SJ65 (6"x6" - 65)

For selecting the correct code for the rack to accommodate your 6x6 inch tiles with a 3/8 inch grout joint, the appropriate code is SJ68. Here’s how it's determined:

Tile Measurement: Your tiles are 6x6 inches.
Rack Fit Check: Ensure the tiles fit the rack's opening, which in this case, should be slightly larger than the tile itself, i.e., 6-1/4 inches.
Accommodation for Grout: The rack’s inside-to-outside dimension is 6-3/8 inches, accommodating both the tile and the desired 3/8 inch grout joint.
Grout Joint Consistency: Use a corner of the rack as a reference to maintain consistent grout joints and align all tiles properly.

By following these steps, you ensure the tiles fit perfectly in the rack with the correct spacing for a 3/8 inch grout joint, hence the SJ68 code is suitable for your needs.

GEORDI is the BOMB

I cant think of any product better than Ardex (first sealer, then the epoxy in "black licorice" (the color will be a point later). WAIT, I can think of something better....CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I had a problem with my 3rd order...on one phone call Geordi handled it. He and I spoke/exchanced some photos....and in about 34 hours the replacement was at my front door.

NOW here's the interesting aspect. I used "black licorice" epoxy. Where I had to stop I had about 1/3 container left. Rather than letting it harden, (it was going to waste anyway) I got the idea to "fill in divots in my 50 year old blacktop drive way". When I have it sealed I do ask them to "fill in" holes that have developed....but they are NOT going to sit and patch it with a putty knife like I did with the Ardex expoxy. It's been maybe 2 months.....WATERPROOF, adhered like welded steel. Only diff is a slight color variation....and next year when I have a blacktop seal put over....you will NEVER see it. I over-ordered....and I will literally use every bit to seal every crack that I can find, so water does not freeze/crack it further!
