Maxisil Natural Stone Sealant
Non-staining silicone for natural-stone joints
Maxisil Natural Stone Sealant is a neutral-cure silicone formulated for movement and connection joints next to marble, granite and other natural stone. It is the stone-specific choice when a conventional wet-area silicone may cause edge staining or is not specified for the substrate. This is a joint sealant, not a penetrating stone sealer for an entire slab or tile surface.
Where to use it
- Movement and perimeter joints alongside suitable marble, granite and natural-stone installations.
- Stone-to-stone and stone-to-adjacent-material joints where the manufacturer's substrate-preparation instructions are followed.
- Interior and exterior joint-sealing work within the technical sheet's stated conditions.
Choose the right formula and color
Select your color from the available Natural Stone variants above. Compare the actual stone and grout in the installation lighting; product photos are a guide, not a physical color guarantee. Each selection is one 310 mL cartridge. If the joint is around ceramic or porcelain tile rather than natural stone, consider Maxisil Wet Area Sealant. For submerged natural-stone pools, the Natural Stone technical sheet lists certain stone-pool joint uses; obtain project-specific preparation and immersion guidance. Maxisil Pool & Fountains Sealant is not specified for natural-stone swimming pools.
Application and curing
- Cartridge: 310 mL; select the intended color before adding to cart.
- Application temperature: approximately 5–35°C (41–95°F) per manufacturer guidance.
- Curing: approximately 2–3 mm per 24 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. Full cure depends on joint depth and conditions; do not assume a 24-hour full cure.
- Preparation: clean, dry, correctly dimensioned joints; primer or additional preparation can be needed for certain stones and adjoining substrates. Test sensitive stone for staining/compatibility.
For tooling, use Maxisil Smoothtex N with the Maxisil Applicator. Do not substitute Smoothtex A on natural stone. Check the Natural Stone technical data sheet before specifying unusual materials.
Common questions
Can I use Maxisil Wet Area instead on marble or granite?
No. Do not select Wet Area for marble or granite based on bathroom location alone; choose the natural-stone formulation and verify the application.
How soon can the joint be put into service?
Allow for the joint's actual depth, temperature and humidity. The published curing rate is about 2–3 mm per day under standard test conditions, not a universal 24-hour deadline.
