Maxisil Cleaner is an acetone-based cleaning product used to remove certain oils and contaminants from compatible non-porous joint surfaces before silicone sealant application. Surface preparation matters: even the right sealant cannot compensate for a contaminated joint.
When to use it
- Preparing compatible, non-porous surfaces before installing a suitable Maxisil silicone joint.
- Wiping away surface contaminants with a clean, lint-free cloth as directed in the relevant sealant technical data sheet.
- Part of a broader preparation process that may also require dry substrates, backer material or primer.
Important compatibility limits
Do not assume this solvent cleaner is safe on natural stone, painted surfaces, acrylic, plastic or every finish. Check the substrate manufacturer's instructions and perform a discreet compatibility test. This product is for surface preparation, not a guaranteed remover of cured silicone. Follow the label's handling and ventilation precautions.

Can I use Cleaner on marble or granite?
No blanket approval is established. Verify compatibility and manufacturer instructions before exposing a stone surface to an acetone-based cleaner.
Will it remove cured caulk?
That is not its established purpose. It is a pre-sealant surface-preparation cleaner.
